I'm working on a free / opensource project inspired by the Kind Words product on Steam.

I love the idea, I just think it is something that should be free to all.

I was going to start a kick-starter to raise money for the domain, but I can get a domain free for a year.

I have a project that has been on my mind for ages. It started as a parody of dropbox when I bought the domain

The idea was that people could sign up and get 1.44MB of webspace to do with what they wanted; even going so far as to mounting that storage so it appeared as a floppy drive on their computer.

I purchased the domain on a whim over a year ago and while I haven't had time to work on the project itself. I have thought about its concept.

I think it would work nicely as an website based digital art project.

Given the space constraint of 1.44MB it would be interesting to see how that challenege shapes how people develop their content.

It would be fascinating to see if any static generated magazine style websites popped up had a similar low digital cost and aethetic to the solar powered LOW←TECH MAGAZINE.

"Wow everything is just feeling so tedious this morning, must be nearly lunchtime, I could use a break."

Oh god no please help me.

I've been considering check-ins with people from the fediverse, where we can log into a self-hosted video/audio/text chat and literally just check in.

We can talk about things we've read, watched or listened to. We can share our pet pictures, or talk about things we've tried for the first time. We can even share our low points, talk about issues with people who are in the same place.

Maybe a problem shared is a problem halved etc. I can only volunteer my bandwidth and cat.

Is this something that may help the isolation? If so, I can set something up.

Boosts appreciated, as Elliott want to love everyone.

This evening my cat is in a VERY loving mood. He would like to wish everyone success, comfort and love.

Books whispered to me.

I rarely opened them because it was like being inside a roar. The intensity overwhelmed me.

But I didn't mind the whispering; for me it was the same as folks who like the sound of rain on a pond or wool being combed.

As I was leaving the library I noticed a chillingly silent book on the floor. I nervously opened it to the first page; blank.

"Help," it gasped.

Her voice became the sweetest I knew.

I cheered as what was clearly a genie emerged from the ring my great-aunt had left me.

"What wishes would you have me grant?"

"I wish for everyone to be cured and an effective vaccine to be available if needed!"

"That's a little beyond me. You'd need Lamp or higher."

"Oh. What CAN you grant in this situation then?"

"Every conference call will have multiple pet visits and your groceries will always replenish?"

"That would be nice."

They should replace "maintain your social distance" with "Mind the gap".
